Alphonse A. Rusonis, age 88, Pentz Run Ave., DuBois, PA died on July 13, 2010 at Christ the King Manor.
Born on June 10, 1922 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late William & Anna (Linkunas) Rusonis.
On Aug. 31, 1957, he married Ruth Smiley Rusonis. She preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1979.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.
He had worked at Riverhill Coal Company and was the owner/operator of Al’s Body Shop in DuBois, PA.
He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the former Lithuanian Club.
He enjoyed fishing and hanging out at Sekula Signs, 101 Auto Body, and Bearfield’s Garage. He loved Boone’s Mountain and long rides.
He is survived by his son (William J. Rusonis and his wife Debra of DuBois, PA) a brother (Anthony Rusonis of DuBois, PA) a sister (Anne Matusky of Sykesville, PA) 1 grandchild, 2 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers (Stanley, Victor, and John Rusonis) & 2 sisters (Stella Costion and Sophie Miner)
There will be no public visitation.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery
Memorials may be placed with St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church , 25 Robinson St., DuBois, Pa 15801and/or Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801
