Police reported a traffic accident that occurred on Presqueisle and Second Streets in Philipsburg Borough on Saturday. The accident occurred as a vehicle driven by David Cowfer was traveling east on Presqueisle Street, and a vehicle driven by Kaitlin Tocimak was traveling west on Presqueisle Street. Cowfer failed to notice Tocimak’s vehicle approaching and turned left onto Second Street in front of the oncoming vehicle and struck the same. Both vehicles came to rest at point of impact on the roadway in the intersection. The Ford F-250 driven by Cowfer sustained moderate damage while the Ford Taurus driven by Tocimak sustained severe damage. No injuries were reported.
Police reported an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between July 5 and July 6 in the Philipsburg and South Philipsburg village areas in Centre County. During the overnight hours, unknown suspects spray painted vulgar and profane words and symbols on the exterior walls of the New Life Church and the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and on the pavilions and park benches at the Cold Stream Dam Park. Police are investigating a reported harassment incident that occurred at 5:40 a.m. Friday. It was reported to police that a verbal argument between a mother and son became physical when the mother allegedly began shoving the son. As a result, the son reported he then allegedly struck her in the face. Citations for harassment will be filed against the accused at district court.
Police reported an incident of harassment that occurred at 9 p.m. Thursday on Front Street. The incident occurred when the accused approached the victim and made threatening remarks to her. Charges of harassment will be filed at district court on the accused.
Police reported a theft that occurred Sunday at Elks Park of state Route 350 in Taylor Township. The victim reported that the suspect stole his cell phone while he was asleep at the location.
