DUBOIS – City officials recently inspected the DuBois Public Library, reported Manager John Suplizio to DuBois City Council on Monday night.
He conducted the inspection along with Engineer and Public Works Director Chris Nasuti and Redevelopment Director Joe Mitchell
He said they conducted the inspection due to concerns about its condition that were expressed at a previous meeting.
Suplizio said they identified the following five areas of the library that need work, which are the awning, ramp, pillars, stucco and lighting.
“I don’t know what we’ll do, or if we’ll get it all done,” said Suplizio. He went on to say that some of the projects would cost around $10,000 to $15,000 each.
The problem with the awnings came up, because fixing them would improve the door area and reduce snow build-up in the wintertime.
It was also noted that the pillars were inspected for warping but were found to be structurally sound despite their appearance.
Council members Edward Walsh and Jim Aughenbaugh were excused from the meeting.
