John W. “Jack” Frank Jr., 72, of RD Philipsburg, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born May 20, 1944 in Brownsville, Texas, he was a son of John W. “Jack” Frank Sr. and Maxine (Hummel) Frank, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Frank was employed with the Baltimore Life Insurance Co. for 49 years. He most recently held the position of platinum senior agent with the company.
He was affiliated with a number of business and professional organizations, including: the National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors; the General Agents and Managers Association, where he was awarded “Best in Class” three times; and the Million Dollar Roundtable. He was a recipient of the Joe Blair Community Leadership Award.
He was involved with the local community and his memberships included the Moshannon Lodge, F. & A.M., No. 391, Philipsburg. He was formerly a member of the Philipsburg Country Club.
Mr. Frank enjoyed a number of activities in his spare time, including golfing, attending a wide variety of sporting events and traveling. He also had his passion for photography.
He was married Dec. 24, 2008 in Key West, Fla., to the former Lorie J. Dolan. She survives at home.
He is also survived by one son, Stephen M. Frank and his wife, Tracy; one step-daughter, Tana Smith and her husband, Patrick; two grandchildren, Haley and Camryn Frank; two step-grandchildren, Kaily and Addyson Smith; and one brother, Melvin C. Frank and his wife, Kay, all of Philipsburg.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Brother David Krupa officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Moshannon Lodge at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg.

The Baltimore Life Insurance Co. will be flying its corporate flag at half-mast at its corporate offices in Owings Mills, Md., for the remainder of April in memory of Mr. Frank’s 49 years of service.
