Allen “Wayne” Johnson, 80, of Morrisdale went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2017 at his residence in Morrisdale.
Born June 3, 1936 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Gunnard and Lois Showers Johnson.
On Nov. 30, 1973 at Philipsburg Lutheran Church, he married Jeannie Marie Taylor Johnson, who survives at home.
Also surviving are his daughters, Kimberly Ann Turner and her husband, Tom, Elizabeth Jane Thomas and her husband, John and Valerie Marie Liptak and her husband, Robert, all of Morrisdale; his sons, Gary Snyder and his partner, Karen Pedmo of Morrisdale and Daniel Snyder and his wife, Judy of Clearfield; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his generation. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Lighthouse Evangelical Church, West Decatur.
He was a graduate of Cooper Township High School and had owned and operated Johnson’s Welding for more than 45 years and sub-contracted for Stott’s Coal in Philipsburg for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the Quigley Springs Hunting Camp, Black Moshannon.
A public Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse Evangelical Church, West Decatur, with the Rev. Elizabeth Thomas officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a luncheon served at the social hall.
There will be no public visitation.
