CLEARFIELD – The goal of the Economic Vitality Committee of the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) is to encourage and maintain a healthy and prosperous business district in downtown Clearfield.
According to Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner, healthy downtowns and their surrounding neighborhoods:
- help spur business development;
- create jobs;
- stimulate the housing market;
- increase occupancy rates and draw investors;
- rehabilitate empty buildings;
- reflect the history of the community;
- promote civic pride; and
- increase community involvement.
As a vital member of the community and business district, the CRC needs help to accomplish this mission. “We would like to provide workshops that are tailored to your specific needs and wants [on] topics that would be beneficial to you and your business,” stated Wagner stated.
For example, she stated that possible workshops may cover: social media training, branding, succession planning, ecommerce (online sales), developing an employee handbook and policies, etc.
She went on to ask: “Is there anything we can be of help? We would like to hear from you what these topics may be, so that we can help you accomplish your business goals.”
Wagner stated that business owners and representatives can reach out to the CRC by calling 814-765-6000 and setting up an appointment; e-mailing discoverclearfield@gmail.com; or completing a short online survey.
Volunteers of the committee include: Valerie Dixon, Lock Haven University; Arianne Greslick, citizen of Clearfield; Lisa Kovalick, Clearfield County planning and community development specialist; Kellie Swales, CNB Bank; and Wagner.
Wagner stated that the committee is hopeful to provide tools and information that will make local businesses even better.
