MADERA – Arleen P. Multhauf, D.Ed., Republican, announces her candidacy for election as Clearfield County Prothonotary and Clerk of the Courts.
Multhauf has had a career in public education and served as Superintendent of Schools for the Moshannon Valley and West Branch Area School Districts. Her college preparation for her educational leadership roles included a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and graduate degrees in library science and supervision. She completed her education with a doctoral degree in educational administration from The Pennsylvania State University.
“My experience in supervising school and district offices as well as my training in organizing research and library materials gives me an excellent background to serve as your prothonotary and clerk of the courts,” remarked Multhauf.
Since retiring as an educator in December 2007. Multhauf has volunteered for Clearfield County for Young People Who Care, Inc. at their Marian House and Lifeline offices and also assists as an AARP Tax Preparer at the Houtzdale Senior Center.
After eight years of volunteer service to the local Boys Scouts of America regional council, Multhauf was elected as the President of the Bucktail Council in January 2009. She will hold this position for two years.
Multhauf and her husband, Jim, are members of the Republican County Committee. They reside on Main Street in Madera, PA, and attend Christ the King Church in Houtzdale and Immaculate Conception Church in Madera, PA. Their daughter, Helen, is a nursing graduate of Mansfield University.
“I have the organizational and supervisory background necessary to provide the taxpayers of Clearfield County a well-run, service-centered, and responsive office to promote the interests of our county. Serving the public on a daily basis while seeking new ways to enhance and improve the functions of the office will be my overriding goal in the office of the prothonotary and clerk of the courts,” Multhauf said.
