CLEARFIELD – PennDOT closed the Simeling Run bridge near West Decatur on Monday. The decision to close the bridge was made based on a recent inspection.
The bridge is located on state Route 2024, about one mile west of the village of West Decatur in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.
A detour of approximately nine miles is in place for the closure. Eastbound traffic will use Routes 2051, 2034, 322 and 2007. Westbound traffic will follow Routes 2007, 322, 2034 and 2051. Drivers are reminded to follow all detour signs. PennDOT is working to repair the bridge and expects to re-open March 18. .
The Simeling Run Bridge was built in 1940. It is 10 feet long and carries 614 vehicles a day.
