CLEARFIELD – PennDOT closed the Simeling Run bridge near West Decatur on Monday. The decision to close the bridge was made based on a recent inspection.
The bridge is located on state Route 2024, about one mile west of the village of West Decatur in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.
A detour is in place for the closure. The nine-mile detour directs eastbound traffic to use SR’s 2051, 2034 and 322. Westbound traffic will follow US Route 322, SR’s 2049 and 2051. Drivers are reminded to follow all detour signs. PennDOT is working to determine the best method of repairing the bridge.
The Simeling Run Bridge was built in 1940. It is 24 feet long and carries 614 vehicles a day.
