Genevieve M. “Jenny” Bucha, 84, of Clarence died peacefully Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at the Eagle Valley Personal Care in Milesburg.
Born June 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Kachik Kochik.
On Nov. 29, 1952 in Clarence, she married Steve F. Bucha Sr., who died Jan. 18, 1997.
She attended the Clarence School. She was a life member of the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence.
She worked at the Hosiery Mill in Clarence. Then she became a cook at Rees Truck Stop for more than 18 years.
She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and going to casinos and yard sales. You could also count on seeing her at the Bingo games every week. She loved the game and socializing.
She was a member of the Snow Shoe Senior Center, Clarence American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Clarence Moose Club 1565.
She is survived by her four children, Steven F. Bucha Jr. and Nancy M. Padisak, both of Clarence, Linda L. Kaminski and her husband, Ralph of Wayne Mich., and Dennis F. Bucha and his wife, Diane of Howard.
She is also survived by one brother, Carl Kochik and his wife, Anna of Indiana, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Danielle Henderson, Steven Bucha, Chris Bucha, Michael Salvanish, Wesley Salvanish, Jonathan Bucha, Melissa Horn, Shaun Bucha and Nicolette Sayers; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son in-law, Marty Padisak; six brothers, Albert, George, Emro, Ed, Ralph and David; and one sister, Matilda “Tilly” Simmers.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 7:45 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father Michael Wolfe celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home for all the compassion and excellent care given to their mother. It was extremely appreciated.
