KARNS CITY — The Clearfield Bison junior varsity football team made the long trek to Karns City on Monday, only to be dealt their second loss of the season, 14-12, to finish the season at 8-2.
Clearfield never led, but was a missed 2-point conversion away with 2:40 left in the game from tying their hosts.
Karns City returned a Jude Pallo pass for a TD to take the lead halfway through the first quarter. A Spencer Graham to Ryan Lakauskas 23-yard touchdown pass narrowed the gap to 7-6 at the half.
The Gremlins extended their lead to 14-6 part way through the fourth quarter, only to have the Bison comeback once again on a Pallo to Barrett Kline 25-yard pass that brought the Bison within the previously mentioned missed 2-point conversion.
Dylan Wilt and Jon Thomas had interceptions for the Bison defense, while Kline also blocked a punt in addition to his touchdown reception.
