PHILILPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program and Philipsburg Borough are proud to announce the opening of the Philipsburg Farmers’ Market. The market will take place every Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m. beginning the first weekend in June and running through September in Municipal Parking Lot #1 located at 112 East Presqueisle Street, between Front and Second Streets in Historic Downtown Philipsburg.
Locally grown produce, plants, and flowers will be available in season as well as locally made baked goods, jams, jellies, and more. According to chairperson and Philipsburg Borough Manager, Jan McDonald, additional vendors will be added as the season progresses.
The market has been operating since 2004 and for the first time has partnered with the Philipsburg Borough to host the event. There is a $5.00 weekly vendor fee to participate and vendors should be aware that if you are selling prepared foods, you must have liability insurance and the appropriate licenses as required by federal, state, county, and/or local government. Tables and/or tents can be provided on a first come first served basis.
Anyone interested in becoming a vendor or in obtaining more information should contact Philipsburg Borough at 814-342-3440 or the Main Street Program at 814-342-2260 or visit www.PhilipsburgPA.org .
