DUBOIS – With 14 bids to choose from for the West Long Avenue Streetscape Improvements Phase I DuBois City Council decided to go with Landserv, Inc.’s bid for the project. Landserv is based out of Boalsburg, Pa.
The expected Growing Green grant will provide $250,000 towards the project in its entirety. Of that, $25,000 will be set aside for planning and design. This will leave $225,000 towards the project itself.
This is roughly $10,000 under the bid amount, and if nothing is changed the difference would come out of the general fund.
The plan to reduce this cost would be to postpone features of the project that can wait. Two such features included seating and trash cans.
The bid for Anderson Creek Drilling was awarded to TRC of Mount Laurel, NJ. It is hoped that this project, once underway, will be completed quickly.
At the end of the meeting City Council Member Randy Schmidt announced his plans to run for council again.
