State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Sept. 24-25 on School House Road in Benezette. During the incident, someone allegedly dumped a substantial amount of red paint into the Benezette sewage system. This contaminated the water at the sewage treatment plant, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a civil issue involving property.
- Police received a report about a loose dog in the area of Washington Avenue. It has since been returned home, police said.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of leased property in the area of Route 879.
- Police received a traffic complaint that occurred in the area of Village Road.
- Police received a report about a retail theft that occurred at the Family Dollar Store. During the incident, a male allegedly removed items and failed to pay for them. He then fled from the store. Upon police arrival, a witness related he’d followed the male and observed where he’d ducked into. Police located the male at which point a foot pursuit ensued before he was taken into custody. At that time, police found he had several outstanding warrants through local departments and was wanted through the state Department of Probation and Parole. The male will be charged for this incident and was turned over to state probation and parole, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct at a church along River Road. A male will be cited for the incident, police said.
- Police received a report about an unwanted person on Poplar Avenue. However, they left prior to police arrival.
- Police received a report about suspicious males at a rear of a River Road business after hours. Upon arrival police spoke with them and found they were working.
- Police received a report about an accident at the Big Lots Plaza.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespass. However, police found it occurred in Pine Township and the caller was referred to the state police.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct at a business on River Road.
