CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville man accused of selling Subutex pills waived all charges to court at his preliminary hearing Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.
Douglas Wayne Taylor Jr., 27, of Curwensville has been charged with two counts each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, criminal use of a communication facility and intentional possession of a controlled substance.
The charges against Taylor were the result of a police investigation into the distribution of Subutex, a Schedule V controlled substance, and two controlled purchases.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 1 officers met for a briefing on the first controlled buy. Earlier in the day, the CI had advised an officer that he/she would be able to purchase Subutex from Taylor at his residence in Curwensville and arranged a meeting time and location by text messages.
The CI was provided with $80 and transported to Taylor’s Curwensville residence. He/she exited the vehicle as Taylor approached it, and the officer observed the CI and Taylor allegedly exchange the cash for two Subutex pills.
On April 26 officers met for a briefing on the second controlled buy. Earlier in the day, the CI had advised an officer that he/she would be able to purchase Subutex from Taylor at his residence in Curwensville.
The CI was provided with $120 and transported to Taylor’s Curwensville residence. He/she exited the vehicle and approached the apartment on foot, and officers were able to observe he/she entering it.
When the CI returned to the vehicle, he/she handed an officer three Subutex pills that were allegedly purchased from Taylor.
The suspected Subutex pills were sent to the Erie Regional Crime Laboratory for identification.
