Ray Robert Harris, 64, of DuBois went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016.
Born May 4, 1952, he was the son of the late James K. and Betty Jane (Bochert) Harris.
He retired in 2015 from the Highway Equipment Company in the parts and shipping/receiving department after 45 years of service. He also worked part-time at Dan’s Pro Shop for many years.
He was an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and loved to ride his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He was well-known in his family as the “proprietor” of “Ray’s Pool Hall.” Family and friends were always welcome in his home and many good times were had around the family pool table. Above all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Carlie R. Gritzer and her husband, Matthew of Reynoldsville; a sister, Carol A. Horner of Rockton; two brothers, James “Lenny” Harris of Rockton and John K. Harris of DuBois; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Matson Gritzer; two nieces, Tracy Brooks and Kim McCracken; and one nephew, Ade Harris.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Damion Harris.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Rockton Cemetery.
