CLEARFIELD – The annual Clearfield Pumpkin Run/Walk 5K, Fall Festival and Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will return to downtown Clearfield on Oct. 8. The event is being hosted by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC).
The day will start off with a Pumpkin Run 5K run/walk through the streets of Clearfield. Participants must register by Sept. 30 to be guaranteed a race T-shirt. Day-of registration will be from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m., and the race will start at 8:30 a.m. Visit www.discoverclearfield.com for more information.
After the race, the fall festival will take place from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in downtown. “This admission-free, family-friendly event on Market, Locust and Third streets features something for everyone,” says Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner.
“Festival-goers can enjoy great food while meeting and mingling with over 100 talented artisans, as they display and sell work ranging from ceramics, fiber, wood, leather and metalwork to jewelry, glass, photography and mixed-media art pieces.”
Many downtown businesses will also be open to showcase great fall sales, according to Wagner.
Other fall festivities will include live entertainment by Guiternia student musicians in front of the Clearfield County Courthouse. Kids will also be able to “Chalk-Up Clearfield” by designing their own square on the sidewalk.
“There will be a lot of games, face painting and fall activities for kids all day throughout the festival,” says Wagner. “Free historic hay rides will also be leaving from the courthouse.”
Festival-goers will also be able to try out the Pennsylvania DUI Simulator and explore the Daughter of Darkness Vietnam War truck.
The annual Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show will be held to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. It will take place in and around the Third Street parking lot with registration being held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The registration fee is $10.
The Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies is planning a “Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade,” as well.
