Three people have been confirmed killed, and 40 others injured, after a car bomb exploded outside a police station in the eastern Turkish city of Van on Wednesday, according to state news agency Anadolu.
Speaking after the attack, Van’s deputy governor Mehmet Parlak said 38 of those injured were civilians while two were police officers.
Anadolu said Kurdish militants were suspected of carrying out the attack.
Clashes between the Kurdistan worker’s party, or PKK, and Turksih forces have been ongoing since a peace process crumbled in 2015.
The PKK were responsible for another bomb attack in Ankara in February 2016, which targeted off-duty police officers.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
