State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of aggravated assault that occurred Wednesday at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale. During the incident, the victim was walking when the suspect allegedly came from behind and sliced the victim’s throat/neck area with an approximately 1.5-inch razor blade, which caused a laceration.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Tuesday on West Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a known juvenile allegedly threw a rock and struck the victim’s vehicle, which caused damage to its paint.
- State police received a report about an incident of attempted theft from a motor vehicle that occurred June 27 in the 100 block of Stable View Road in Halfmoon Township. Further, the victim told state police that his truck door was open and a light was on; however, nothing appeared to be missing from inside. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Wednesday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township. During the incident, a St. Marys woman allegedly took several items and attempted to leave without paying for them. She was cited for the incident through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police were dispatched to South Second Street for a report about a male who was being disorderly and refusing to leave. Upon arrival police made contact with him, at which point he agreed to leave.
- Police responded to the area of West Locust Street and Turnpike Avenue for a minor accident. Further, police reported that a vehicle pulled into the path of another being driven on Turnpike Avenue. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police located a male along South Second Street for whom there were active warrants through the department. He was stopped and resolved the warrants.
- Police responded to the area of North Third Street for a male who appeared to be intoxicated. Further, police located the male and determined that he was OK.
- Police responded to East Market Street for an alleged incident of trespass. During the incident, a male had entered into a female’s apartment without permission, police said.
- Police were called to Lower Witmer Park for a report about a male who was trespassing. Upon arrival police were unable to locate the male.
- Police received a report about alleged harassment that was occurring over Facebook.
- Police were called about a dog that had run from a house along River Road. It was later located at the SPCA.
- Police received a call regarding harassing text messages being sent from an unknown person. The victim later called back, advising they had determined from whom the text messages were coming, and they didn’t any longer need police assistance.
- Police arrested a male along East Locust Street who had an active warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to the jail on the warrant.
- Police were called to Nichols Street for a female who had attempted to kill herself. However, she was not there upon police arrival but later returned while police were still there. She resisted when police attempted to secure her; she was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle, rollover crash in the area of the Old Erie Pike and Glen Richey Highway. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about an attempted burglary at a Mount Joy Road residence.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred at local hotel.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run that occurred on Mount Joy Road.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard on the Rockton Mountain Highway where a load of hay was lost onto the roadway.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle crash on the Rockton Mountain Highway near Old Penfield Road. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and minor injuries were reported as a result, police said.
- Police were dispatched to the area of the Clearfield Bypass for a report about a male who was walking along the roadway. Upon arrival police located the male and determined that his vehicle had become disabled in Curwensville. Police provided the male with transportation.
