Margaret R. Peters, 86, formerly of Clearfield and most recently of Woodbury, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Peters was born July 13, 1930 in Clearfield, the daughter of Charles J. and Mary Helen (Payonk) Mayersky.
She was a homemaker and loved to crochet and bake cookies for her grandchildren. Mrs. Peters was a member of the St. Thomas Moore Church in Roaring Springs.
She is survived by two sons, Mic Peters and his wife, Kim of Hopewell and Michael L. Peters and his wife, Kandace of Renfrew.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Michael W. Peters, Matthew C. Peters, Amanda C. Peters, Kandida M. Link, Emmitt C. Peters and Colton Hawke Peters.
She is also survived by two sisters, Ceal Lasardo and Marie Drunkenmiller; a brother, Charles Mayersky and his wife, Connie; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, McKnight D. Peters, to whom she was married June 6, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2006 and she missed him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Father John Miller as celebrant. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield. A Christian vigil service will be said at 7 p.m. Monday.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
