Robert L. Kyler Sr., 85, of West Decatur died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his residence.
Born Nov. 3, 1930 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Jesse and Alma (Kennedy) Kyler.
Mr. Kyler was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Clearfield American Legion. He was also a 1948 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
He had been employed as a gas truck driver with J.J. Powell of Philipsburg until health reasons forced his retirement.
On Jan. 11, 1953 in Philipsburg, he married the former Frances McGee. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2001.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Kyler Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Emma Scaife; and numerous brothers and sisters. He was the last of his generation.
Surviving are a son, Michael J. Kyler and his wife, Kerri of West Decatur, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg with the Rev. Kaye Hute officiating.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
