CLEARFIELD – Emergency responders from across the area will be honored on May 16 during a county-wide prayer service.
The event will take place at the Presbyterian Church in Clearfield at 6 p.m. and will be for fire, police, rescue and EMS responders. The service is to honor those who have joined with the eternal saints having dedicated their lives to protect the public and their communities from 2009-2010. Specific requests for prayer will be sought as part of the service for those in our own county, active or retired, who have joined passed on in the last year.
Prayers of support will also be offered for responders currently serving in the United States and their families. Uniforms and emergency vehicles are welcome at the event. Special prayers for specific people will available at the end of the service.
Words of support and thanks will be offered by Clearfield County District Attorney Bill Shaw, Clearfield County Commissioner McCracken and Clearfield County Sheriff Chester Hawkins. Worship and leadership will be provided by Clearfield County Police Chaplains Team: the Revs. Rob Mellgard and Chuck Swenson, CLP Gary Jewart. Also assisting in the worship leadership will be Fire Chaplain Rodger Gorton of Clearfield.
All fire departments, police departments, rescue departments, EMS members, operating in whole or part of clerafield County, active and retired, are encouraged to attend this service of memorial and prayer with their families.
