CLEARFIELD – A proposed senior housing project at the Clearfield County Professional Office Park was granted a final six month extension on Tuesday.
Stacey Locastro of Central PA Community Action asked the commissioners for a six month extension to finalize paperwork with HUD. The extension would run through June 30, 2009.
The last extension the commissioners granted for the project was in June.
The proposed project would consist of a 12-unit structure for seniors at lot 10 on Leonard Street.
Locastro said she hopes to break ground in 2009.
“The project’s still happening,” said County Commissioner Mark McCracken. “It’s a slow project.”
“They’ve (HUD) committed money to our project,” said Locastro.
The commissioners approved the extension unanimously, with the stipulation this would be the last extension granted.
