Thomas A. Irvin, 68, of Clearfield died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. He was born Nov. 26, 1947, a son of the late Homer E. and Vivian Irvin.
Mr. Irvin was employed as a coal miner with Lady Janes Co. until the early 1980’s. He then started and operated his own sawmill for several years.
In his spare time, Mr. Irvin enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
He is survived by four children, Tracy Irvin and her fiancé, Tim Bailey of Morrisdale, Penny Irvin of Grampian and Michael Irvin and his wife, Angela and Stephanie Irvin, both of Clearfield.
He is survived by five grandchildren, Kirra and Nicholas Irvin, Tessah Burge and her husband, Eric and Myah and Emmah Irvin; three brothers, Joe Irvin of Georgia, Jeff Irvin of Morrisdale and John Irvin of Frenchville; and two sisters, Judy Owens of Woodland and Sarah Amon of Shawville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ron, James and Howard Irvin and a sister, Dolores Stimpson.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery, Shawville.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
