Clifton G. “Tip” Josephson, 78, of Grassflat died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born May 12, 1937, he was born the son of the late Oscar and Bertha Walker Josephson. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lanse.
He was a 1955 graduate of the Cooper Township High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Josephson was a member of the Red-V Camp, Black Moshannon, where he was the camp cook for 45 years.
He had worked at Piper Aircraft and retired from the Utilities Forestry Inc., Clearfield, as a sawyer.
He married Jean Heffler Josephson on Aug. 10, 1963 in Norristown. She survives in Grassflat.
Mr. Josephson is survived by a daughter, Shelley Houser and her husband, Bill of Grassflat and his grandson, Justin Houser and his fiancé, Jon of Grassflat; a brother, William Josephson of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
