State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by deception that occurred Friday on the Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone contacted the victim by telephone and claimed to be with the IRS. The caller allegedly threatened that she’d be taken to jail if she didn’t pay an amount of money. The victim, state police said, subsequently provided the caller five iTunes bar codes, which totaled $2,500 over the phone. State police would like to remind the public to be vigilant of these scams. State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred sometime between April 20 and Friday at a residence in Winslow Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed some cash from the victim’s residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police responded to a DUI-related crash Saturday on Walnut Street in Rush Township. Further, a vehicle operated by a Philipsburg woman exited the roadway to the right and came to a final rest in a ditch. Her vehicle didn’t appear to sustain any damage; she didn’t appear to have any injuries, state police said. However, state police determined she was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time, and charges will be filed through the district court.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday on Bo’shazzar Road in Rose Township. During the incident, someone allegedly struck a mailbox, and the incident remains under investigation at this time. State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Saturday or Sunday in the area of Laurel and Fern lanes in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged mailboxes that belonged to 13, different people. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.

DuBois City
- On Friday police responded to the 300 block of West Long Avenue, where a male was allegedly striking the caller’s vehicle with his walking cane. The male then “flipped off” the caller and walked away, police said. Police later located the male, Kevin Shirey, 58, of Sykesville, and he denied striking the vehicle; however, he was cited for disorderly conduct for the incident.
- On Friday police received a report from a Sykesville man who alleged he was being harassed via Facebook. While officers were speaking with him, a DuBois woman called police to allege the man was harassing her. Police advised both to cease contact with each other.
- Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Beaver Drive on Saturday for an activated burglar alarm at a local business. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police were dispatched to North Brady Street for a possible burglary in progress on Saturday. Further, a renter believed that someone was attempting to pick a lock to his apartment door. Upon arrival officers didn’t locate anyone inside of the building.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Saturday on East Long Avenue. The caller told police that her neighbor was harassing her because she arrived at her apartment and knocked on her door. Upon speaking with both, police determined that no crime had occurred.
- On Saturday police were called to the 100 block of East Long Avenue after a resident alleged her adult daughter was harassing her. She told police her daughter had called and yelled at her for being a bad mother. Police determined that no crime was committed; however, they referred the mother to her daughter’s probation officer.
- On Saturday police received a report from an 18-year-old DuBois man who was at the City Park when a known male allegedly stole his medications. Police are continuing their investigation of the incident.
- On Sunday police received a report from a Quarry Avenue resident who said a female and male had arrived at her house and demanded their dog back. Police spoke to those involved about the ongoing issue and advised it needed to be settled in civil court, and any further contact would result in harassment charges.
- Police responded to the 100 block of Quarry Avenue, where music was coming from a neighboring apartment Sunday. Upon arrival officers requested the male turn his music down, which he did.
- Police received a report about an assault patient Sunday at the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital. During the incident, a known actor allegedly assaulted the victim on West Park Avenue. The male, police said, was treated and released from the hospital, and criminal charges will be filed against the actor.
