DUBOIS – Two men accused of assaulting a 14-year-old DuBois boy waived their rights to preliminary hearings on Friday.
Stefon Bogacki, 18 or Reynoldsville, is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
Matthew Blake, 19 of Reynoldsville, is charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
According to court records police on Aug. 21 at 10:44 p.m. police were called to an East Scribner Avenue address for a report of an assault victim. Upon arrival police spoke with the boy’s mother.
She told police that her son had been assaulted by a group of males. She said that her son was home alone at the time of the assault. Police were told that they males came and knocked on the door. The boy answered and was reportedly drug outside by an African-American male known as “Spongebob.”
The boy reported that Spongebob threw him against the wall then struck him in the eye. He said he was then punched in the head by Matt Blake and Stefon Bogacki, then kicked in the stomach by an known juvenile. He said that after falling to the ground from the blows to the head they kicked him around his body. He told the officer that after that they left him alone. He also told the office her was very scared and fearful during the assault.
The boy told the officer that the incident started earlier in the day. He said that he was at the park and another kid started a fight with him. As he was leaving he accidentally ran into a girl with the handlebar of his bicycle. He said that Spongebob then struck him in the head.
The officer noted that the teen’s left eye was swollen shut. He recommended to the boy’s mother that he have the injury looked at. He was then transported to the hospital by his mother.
The officer spoke to hospital personnel about the injury and learned that he had suffered a cracked left orbital bone.
