CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST) suggests you get out your bicycles and get geared up for the 3rd Annual CAST “Tour de Parks” bicycle ride on May 16. The ride, sponsored by CAST, begins at SB Elliott State Park.
This ride is a fun event for riders of all levels. The ride will take place on the dirt and gravel roads throughout the scenic Moshannon State Forest, with the cooperation of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The ride begins and ends at SB Elliott State Park (just north of Exit 111 of Interstate 80, nine miles north of Clearfield) and will include four ride options for cyclists of all levels and riding interests:
Option 1 – 5 miles, begins at 12:30 p.m. This is a short ride for the casual rider.
Option 2 – 15 miles, begins at 12:30 p.m. This is a moderate ride with several hills.
Option 3 – 22 miles, begins at 12 noon. This loop includes Parker Dam State Park and several hills.
Option 4 – 35 miles, begins at 12 noon. This is a ride for the serious cyclists that includes Parker Dam State Park and numerous hill climbs.
Ride day registration begins at 11 a.m. at Pavilion 2 in the park. Registration cost on the day of the ride is $20 for adults and $15 for those riders under 16.
Those who pre-register by April 23 ($20 for adults and $15 for riders under 16) will be given a ride t-shirt. Registration pamphlets are available in several area sporting goods stores, by downloading them from www.castbuilding.com at the CAST office at 112 E. Locust Street or by calling the CAST office at 765-4474.
Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and riders of all ages must wear an approved helmet.
Rest stops with food and drinks will be manned throughout the ride and at the start/finish. The ride will take place rain, snow, sun or mud!

CAST is a non-profit organization providing live theatre productions, special performance events, the Young People’s Summer Theatre Workshop, CAST Mystery Dinner Theatre and private lessons in piano, guitar and acting, as well as classes in dance, baton, gymnastics and creative writing.

Those reaching certain levels of sponsorship will be advertised on the ride T-shirts with their business name and/or logo as well as on the marquee in front of the CAST building.
