Leonard Francis Rodkey, 82, of Ramey died Monday, March 14, 2016 at his home.
Born May 17, 1933 in Houtzdale, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lillian E. (Woodle) Rodkey.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later served in the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard.
After his service, he worked as a master grinder for Lee Industries.
On June 25, 1955, he married Agnes Marie Lutz in St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, Houtzdale, who survives him at home.
He was a member of St. Barbara’s PNCC in Houtzdale, the American Legion Post 591, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 327 and the Morann Citizens Club.
Mr. Rodkey enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking his dog.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a two sons, Alan J. Rodkey and his girlfriend, Tish Johnson of Houtzdale and Paul E. Rodkey and his wife, Lori of Frenchville.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Rodkey of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Paul L. and Joshua R. Rodkey; one step-grandchild, Mikalyn Travis; a niece, Tina M. (Jaskowak) Travis of Osceola Mills; a great-nephew, Clay A. Travis of Osceola Mills; a sister-in-law, Helen Lutz of Ramey; and brother-in-law, Michael Lutz of Osceola.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. and Robert R. Rodkey; a sister, Donna M Jaskowak; and a brother-in-law, John Jaskowak.
Family will receive friends 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday in Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey. A vigil will be said at 6 p.m. by Father Scott Lill.
Prayers of transfer will be said 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara’s Polish National Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Father Scott Lill as celebrant.
Burial with military honors will follow in St. Barbara’s Cemetery.
