President Barack Obama said Monday that he called officials in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in the wake of a deadly shooting spree, promising the mayor and local law enforcement “they’ll have whatever support they need.”
“You’ve got families that are shattered today,” Obama said while speaking to the National Governors Association, adding that his action on guns earlier this year was clearly not enough. “We need to do more.”
Authorities have arrested Jason Brian Dalton, who is suspected of killing six people and wounding two others in Michigan over the weekend.
