Margaret E. Elbell, 92, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at her home.
Born July 7, 1923 in Karthaus, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Annie (Triponey) Heichel.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Matthews of Warren and Nancy Wallace of Clearfield and a son, Harold Frederick Elbell Jr. and his wife, Denise of Bellefonte.
She is survived by four grandsons, Terry Matthews Jr. and his wife, Lori and Grant Matthews, both of Altoona, Ty Wallace and his wife, Heather of Albrightsville and David Matthews and his wife, Marissa of Bellwood.
She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Paige and Tre? Matthews of Altoona, Ryder and Lydia Wallace of Albrightsville and Collin and Joel Matthews of Bellwood; a brother, Blair Heichel and his wife, Kitty of Clearfield; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Elbell Sr. on July 8, 2002; two brothers, Gordon and Wilford Heichel; and three sisters, Elizabeth Jacobs, Eva Paup and Helen Tenon.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. Henry Krebs officiating.
As per Mrs. Elbell’s wishes, burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Circle of Friends of Hospice, Annie Lumadue, 286 W. Pauline Dr., Clearfield, the St. Francis School, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield or to the American Legion Auxiliary, 210 S. Second St., Clearfield.
