State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of robbery that occurred Wednesday on Beech Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, three known suspects allegedly struck the victim several times, causing injury. They also allegedly forcibly took the victim’s wallet, which contained various items inside. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police investigated an alleged incident of criminal attempt/theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Tuesday or Wednesday on Reed Street in Brisbin Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly tampered with the ignition column inside the victim’s vehicle. So far as the victim’s knowledge, there wasn’t anything removed from inside of the vehicle. State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported an alleged incident of fleeing and eluding that occurred Wednesday on Interstate 99 in College Township. Further, troopers allegedly attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding when two juveniles, ages 15 and 14 years old, tried to flee by reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. When their vehicle crashed into a road sign, they allegedly continued traveling, and the operator went the wrong way on an exit ramp; the operator allegedly continued traveling the wrong way on North Atherton Street until eventually stopping. At that point, both juveniles were taken into custody, and state police are continuing their investigation at this time.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to an alleged incident of criminal mischief in the 100 block of Chestnut Street. Further, the property owner told police he had a stone and paver moved from his yard onto the roadway.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male resident on South Brady Street. The male, police said, had made several calls to 911; he also had made random remarks. Police advised him not to call 911 unless it was an emergency.
- Police were again dispatched to South Brady Street for a male who was calling 911. Police advised the male not to call 911 again unless it was an emergency. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about fraudulent checks being passed. The complainant provided police with a known suspect, and the case remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and First Street. Further, a truck was turning left onto First Street when it struck a stop sign on the traffic island. As a result, the sign became caught underneath the truck, causing disabling damage. The truck was towed from the scene, police said, adding a temporary stop sign was also installed at the scene.
Sandy Township
- On Monday a 25-year-old Home Camp Road woman alleged that her estranged 25-year-old husband came to her house, and she has a Protection from Abuse order against him. The man left prior to her calling the police, and officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Monday a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old DuBois man slid off of Coral Reef Road, spun through the median and came to rest in the opposing lane. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- An 18-year-old DuBois man lost control of his vehicle on snow-covered roads Monday on the Bee Line Highway. This caused it to cross into the opposing lane of travel, hit a guardrail and then travel down an embankment. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police responded to the Bee Line Highway near Wendy’s for a woman who was in labor on Monday. Upon arrival the woman had already given birth to the baby. Officers assisted in transporting her and the baby to Penn Highlands.
- Sandy Township police have received several reports about residents who are receiving calls from people who are claiming that the IRS and a police department have warrants for them. They are demanding residents pay an amount to avoid arrest. Police would like to warn residents that these phone calls are scams and to not release any information.
- On Tuesday a Treasure Lake resident alleged that a storage shed he owns on Flowing Well Road was broken into and several hundreds of dollars’ worth of tools was taken. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday a 29-year-old Hanes Drive woman alleged that she suspected her ex-boyfriend cut a brake line on her new boyfriend’s vehicle due to a threatening message he sent her via text. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a one-vehicle accident Tuesday near the intersection of West Long Avenue and Larkeytown Road. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
