ALLIANCE, Ohio — Junior Jessica Shomo (Clearfield) sprinted the third leg on Clarion’s 800-meter relay team that set a meet record in the Jim Wuske Invitational at Mount Union College’s Peterson Fieldhouse Saturday.
Shomo, Courtney Corban, Tatiana Cloud and Courtney Young combined for a 1:48:19 to win by more than four seconds and break the previous standard of 1:48.98 established just last year by Point Park.

SELINSGROVE — Junior Rebecca Johnson (Curwensville) of St. Francis (Pa.) ran in two events at the Crusader Challenge in Susquehanna’s James Garrett Sports Complex Saturday.
She finished 28th in the mile run in a season-best 5:57.52 and 35th in the 800-meter run in 2:47.68.
Red Flash freshman Sarah Lash (Clearfield) placed 37th in the weight throw with a toss of 7.72 meters (25 feet, 4 inches).
