City chosen as Sunoco Universal credit card winner, receives $5,000 in fuel
DUBOIS – City Manager Herm Suplizio is focused on bringing people to the great city of DuBois.
Sunoco recently held a celebration in honor of DuBois City, a grand prize winner in Sunoco’s annual Free Fuel 5000 contest. Suplizio accepted the $5,000 worth of free Sunoco fuel on behalf of the city at DuBois City Hall.
“There’s about 20,000 residents in the greater DuBois area,” said Suplizio. “It’s obviously not your Harrisburg, Philadelphia or Pittsburgh in terms of size, but when you look at the sense of community, we have an incredible bond between our residents and everyone who works so hard to make this a great place to live and raise a family.”
When Sunoco told Suplizio that the city had won $5,000 worth of free fuel, he couldn’t stop thinking about all the ways it would help his town. “Not only is this fuel going to benefit all of the taxpayers,” said Suplizio, “but it will also help our police, fire and public works departments run smoothly.”
Suplizio estimated that this prize will cover all fuel-related expenses in the city for about one month.
“We’ve made a conscious effort to use Sunoco fuel for the city because it’s one of the best fuel brands out there,” said Suplizio. “This is a fantastic gift. Thank you Sunoco for your generosity.”
The Sunoco Universal Fleet Credit Card is a global gas card that is accepted at all 5,000 Sunoco locations as well as 90 percent of fueling locations across the nation. Users can receive up to 6 cents back per gallon. Companies and municipalities use the card for their drivers to earn big savings.
“We love this contest because it rewards some of our most loyal customers and even local communities,” said Drew Kabakoff, brand marketing director. “The fact that Sunoco can benefit an entire city and its taxpayers through Free Fuel 5000 is a great new benefit of this contest.”
