Loretta V. Carson, 93, of Osceola Mills died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Dec. 16, 1922 in Decatur Township, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Chronister) Hughes.
She married Austin J. Carson Sr. on Aug. 16, 1941 in Berkley Springs, W.Va. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1991.
Mrs. Carson was a member of the Coal Run C&MA Church in Osceola Mills. She was a homemaker and a 1941 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Jordan; a son, Jay Timothy Carson; two granddaughters, April Myers and Kristin Perkins; two sisters, Imogean Meyer and Mary Jane Brice; and two brothers, Edward Hughes and Raymond Hughes.
She is survived by three daughters, Anna Ruth Myers and her husband, Walter of Osceola Mills, Gail Francisco and her husband, Dennis of Houtzdale and Loretta Ferguson of Philipsburg; a son, A. John Carson Jr. and his wife, Joan of Osceola Mills; and a sister, Esther Marie Smith of Philipsburg.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sheri, Nathan, Douglas, Kari, Jill, Dory and Jonathan; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery in Osceola Mills. There will be no visitation.
