CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County Coroner Michael Morris has released his office’s annual report for 2015.
The coroner’s office received 442 calls for service through the county dispatch center. The following is a list of death investigation figures by month.

- March, 33 investigations
- April, 31 investigations
- May, 44 investigations
- June, 28 investigations
- July, 39 investigations
- August, 31 investigations
- September, 34 investigations

Also, Morris noted that his office currently has three pending death investigations.
For 2015, the coroner’s office handled 420 cases and 388 reviews for cremation authorization.
Of the 420 cases, 335 were natural deaths; 41 were accidental deaths; 20 were suicides; three were homicides; three were undetermined fetal deaths; 15 were drug overdoses; and three are pending investigation.
The coroner’s office would like to acknowledge the local and Pennsylvania State Police, the county’s ambulance and fire services, the county’s emergency management agency and the staff members at both local hospitals for their assistance in these matters.
Also, the coroner’s office would like to thank District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. and Pathologist Dr. Harry Kamerow for their support and assistance on several complex cases throughout the year.
Morris also noted that a project started in 2015 to convert the coroner’s records to a computerized digital record has been put on hold. He indicated it was due to budget and manpower constraints on the coroner’s office.
