CLEARFIELD – In order to better serve its customers, CNB Bank has announced its adoption of a new Web site address, or domain, for its Internet operations – CNBBank.bank.
.Bank is a new, more secure Internet domain for verified banks. It is an easily identifiable channel for trusted communications between banks and their customers.
Since the .bank environment is exclusive to the banking industry, it provides a level of security unmatched in traditional Internet environments. such as .com. The strict controls in place help to mitigate cyber security risk and allow CNB to better protect its customers.
Only verified members of the banking community can have a .bank domain. In order to confirm that applicants are members of the global banking community, every application undergoes vigorous verification before it is registered. This exclusivity offers a degree of safety that other commercial domains do not provide.
“We are pleased to adopt the .bank domain,” said Joseph B. Bower Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank.
“The increased value of our new CNBBank.bank domain enables us to build a higher trusted environment for our customers and to provide another barrier against cybercrime. When you see .bank, you can rest assured that it is a legitimate bank Web site.”
Customers and Web site visitors do not need to take any action. CNB can be found online as they always have at www.BankCNB.com, but will automatically redirect to the new www.CNBBank.bank URL.
