HARRISBURG – Members of senior centers across Pennsylvania are again invited to donate handmade ornaments for the Christmas tree in the state Capitol Rotunda, Department of Aging Secretary Nora Dowd Eisenhower said.
“The Christmas tree in the Rotunda just wouldn’t be complete without the ornaments donated by the members of senior centers across Pennsylvania,” Dowd Eisenhower said. “This annual project is a fun way to engage our talented seniors and the results are enjoyed by thousands of visitors to the state Capitol.”
Members of 28 senior centers donated hundreds of ornaments for last year’s tree. This year’s Capitol tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for noon on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Senior Centers are asked to send sturdy, hand-made ornaments to the following address before Nov. 24:
