COMMODORE — The Clearfield Area High School boys basketball team breezed to the title game of the 37th annual Purchase Line Lions Club Holiday Tournament by putting the clamps on Harmony for a 60-30 victory Tuesday night.
“After the layoff, we came out a little rusty, but we improved as the game went on,” coach Nate Glunt described the once-beaten Bison’s seventh win.
Will Myers was the big gun with 21 points, including five three-pointers.
His 18 points in the first two periods propelled the Bison to a 34-14 lead, and they widened the bulge to 50-20 with more tight defense in the third quarter.
“Will is consistent and steady,” Glunt said. “And Ryan Lezzer gave us really solid minutes for his best game. He was all over the place defensively and also scored nine points.”
Clearfield will be shooting for a ninth tourney title Wednesday night in a 7:30 tip-off against Purchase Line, which defeated Glendale in the second game.
