DECATUR TOWNSHIP – Two people were sent to the hospital with moderate injuries after an accident Thursday on Walton Street in Decatur Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.
According to state police, Cindy L. Stevens of Mount Union was traveling north. At the same time, Cindy J. Smeal of Philipsburg was stopped in the northbound lane to turn into a parking lot.
However, the Stevens vehicle stuck that driven by Smeal in the rear, causing damage. The Smeal vehicle slid down the street for a distance before coming to a rest in the southbound lane.
The Stevens vehicle pulled off the roadway and parked after the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene, state police said.
Both Stevens and Smeal were wearing their seatbelts. Both were transported from the scene by emergency personnel to the hospital for medical treatment, state police said.
State police were assisted by Philipsburg Emergency Medical Services, Osceola Mills Fire Police and the Chester Hill Fire Company.
