Veronica J. Snyder, 67, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at her residence.
Born June 11, 1948 in Ehrenfield, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Grobosky) Poldiak.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was also a member of the Priests for Life; the Child of Mary; the Good Council; St. Anthony Bread for the Poor; and the Cause for Father Solonus Casey.
She was also a member of the Humane Society of the United States; the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; the Alley Cats Allies and the North Shore Animal League.
She was a 1967 graduate of the Forest Hills High School in Sidman.
Mrs. Snyder had been employed as a typist with the Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Virginia from 1967 until 1971. She later worked at the McDonald’s restaurant in Philipsburg from 1998 until her retirement in 2003.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Poldiak.
She is survived by a daughter, Bree R. Burkett and her husband, Andrew of Osceola Mills; a son, Charles J. Welch of Ramson, W.Va.; a sister, Carol Patrick of Sterling, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Lacie, Eric, Alexander, Emma, Jessica, Cassie, Joshua, Julian, Gweneviere, Ambrosia and Adairus; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg with the Rev. John Gibbons as celebrant. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in South Fork, Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.
A Vigil Service will be held by Fr. Gibbons at 6 p.m. followed by the recitation of the rosary, both on Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Mrs. Snyder may be made to a pro-life or animal rights organization of the donor’s choice.
