Samuel D. Alsbaugh, 68, of DuBois died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at Penn Highlands-DuBois.
He was born May 22, 1947 in Medina, NY, the son of the late Samuel Cleo and Laura (Kohler) Alsbaugh.
Mr. Alsbaugh served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a short order cook for many years and was Presbyterian by faith.
He was an avid bowler for more than 20 years and enjoyed NASCAR. He was a huge football fan, including of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions.
His survivors include a sister, Barbara Davis of North Carolina; his companion for more than 14 years, Harriet Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Michelle.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., with the Rev. Charlene Lauver, minister of Trinity Chapel, officiating.
Full military honors will be presented by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
