The Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race that was to run on Sunday has been delayed. Persistent and intermittent rain showers, including one severe downpour, has plagued the speedway throughout the weekend. On Saturday night, the Nationwide Series race was called after 170 of the scheduled 200 laps were completed.
The rain stopped shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, however; NASCAR officials elected to postpone the event because the track drying efforts would take over two hours to complete.
The race will run on Monday, Memorial Day, with coverage starting at 12 noon on FOX.
