Joaquin Q. Megofna, 69, of DuBois died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at his home.
Born May 3, 1946 in Guam, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Quichocho) Megofna.
He was married to Pamela J. (Hendricks) Megofna. She survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Owens Brockway after 30 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at McDowell Manufacturing.
He loved to fish in Lake Erie and he loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by eight children, Kenny Megofna (Katie) of Ridgecrest, Calif.; Krissy Oakes (John) of Punxsutawney; Sierra Wayts (Shawn) of East Rochester, Ohio; and Manny Megofna (Kari), Stacey Craft, Kim Madera (Scott), Angel Elridge (Ben Dahrouge) and April Gesin (Justin), all of DuBois.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Guam.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday the funeral home. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
