CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area United Way recently held its second report luncheon at the St. Charles Café Dining Room in downtown Clearfield.
Volunteers announced new donations, which bring the total raised to more than $205,000, or to 82 percent of the $245,000 campaign goal for 2015-16.
Funds raised will help 24 local member agencies located throughout eastern, southern and central Clearfield County.
“We are finding it challenging this year and hoping people who have never given to the United Way before will look at all of the agencies we help day-in, day-out. These agencies reach infants to the elderly,” stated Campaign Debbie Bowser.
“We are hoping that they will send in a tax deductible donation today to the Clearfield Area United Way, 18 N. Second St., P.O. Box 1430, Clearfield, PA 16830.”
The United Way has existed for more than 125 years nationally. The Clearfield area chapter has been in existence for nearly 80 years.
Board President Mark Schultz stated, “We appreciate all giving and hope that there are those generous folks out there who will help us reach the top of the goal thermometer in the Courthouse Square.
“We have the opportunity that if you would like to make a gift in memory or honor of someone, we can do that. You can give through PayPal on our Web site at clearfieldareaunitedway.org.
“The CAUW also has a Legacy Giving Program within its Named Fund. It’s for donors who want to ensure the United Way is helping people for the next generations.
“Information on how to make donations to the CAUW as well as on its FamilyWize free prescription cards, Jeans for Teens and Reading Ripples programs and more can be found on our Web site.”
