CURWENSVILLE – Bobby Oeler pitched a four-inning no-hitter and Philipsburg-Osceola scored in every inning to defeat Curwensville 11-1 in District 5 Northern Tier Little League 11-and-12 Division All-Star action at William Beyer Memorial Field Thursday evening.
P-O, which was the home team on the flip of a coin, tallied four runs in the bottom of the fourth to invoke the Mercy Rule.
Oeler struck out 10 and walked two, losing a shutout in the second inning when Kyle Johns reached base on an error and eventually scored on a double steal.
Luther Harlow and Travis Arnold each had two hits and drove in two runs for P-O, which totaled 10 hits off Johns and Ricky Magnuson.
Harlow, Cody Ammerman, Chris Thompson and Caleb Pepperday had RBI-doubles for the winners, who will host Clearfield in a winner\’s bracket semifinal Saturday.
Curwensville will go to Stormstown to face Tri-County in a loser\’s bracket first-round game at Half-Moon Township Field.
