PHILIPSBURG – It\’s all about rebounding from week one as the Clearfield Bisons (0-1) make the trip to Philipsburg to face the Philipsburg-Osceola Mounties (0-1). Clearfield is looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 35-28 loss to DuBois, while P-O is hoping to improve from their 22-6 loss to Bald Eagle Area.
Clearfield is looking to build off of its performance against DuBois, a game in which they gained 484 total yards against the Beavers only to be stopped short of the goal line on the final drive of the game.
Quarterback Jarrin Campman is looking to continue his success spreading the ball coming off a 22 of 38 for 278 yards passing performance that saw him complete passes to six different receivers.
The running game also shows strength with Clearfield having three different players scoring touchdowns against the Beavers (Campman, Isiah Morgan and Josh Rippey).
P-O is coming off of a loss to Bald Eagle where they committed 13 penalties for 126.5 yards and turned the ball over on three interceptions by quarterback Steve Rusnak. The running game looks to be the strength of the Mounties with leading rusher Brad Rocco.
The game is the first meeting between Clearfield and P-O since 2003, with the Bisons picking up the victory.
Kickoff is Friday, 7 p.m. at Memorial Field in Philipsburg.
