The third installment of the “Pitch Perfect” series will have a familiar face behind the camera.
Elizabeth Banks has signed on to direct the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Pitch Perfect 2” was her debut as a director. It opened with $69 million in its first weekend in May, making it the highest domestic opening for a first-time director.
The sequel went on to $285 million in worldwide box office.

Fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over Banks’ involvement in the film. She also is one of the film’s stars.
Kay Cannon will stay on as writer for this third movie.
Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson will also be back in the musical-comedy, planned for release in 2017.
