COUDERSPORT – Are you ready for some football?
The 2007 high school football season starts Friday night with 13 games on tap including a rematch of the last two District 9 Class A title games when Curwensville travels to the CARP in Coudersport looking to break a five-game losing streak to the Falcons.
With the start of the season, questions abound including can Coudy win an unprecedented third straight District 9 Class A title in ’07? If the Falcons turn the trick, they would become the first Class A team to win three straight titles. As it stands now, they are one of just three schools to repeat as Class A title winners joining Smethport (1991-92 & 1995-96) and Clarion-Limestone (2002-2003) in accomplishing the feat. The Falcons will see plenty of challengers including AML North foe Cameron County, which is looking to end Coudy’s reign of five straight AML North titles, AML South teams Ridgway and Curwensville and KSAC foes Clarion and Keystone. It might also be a surprise team like Kane, which is coming off a 3-7 injury riddled season but has many coaches afraid to play it this year.
