It was a rainy senior night at the Bisons Sports Complex. Congratulation to the Bisons senior football players, Bisons senior cheerleaders, and Bisons senior marching band members. Good luck in your future.
The Bisons kicked off to the Bearcats to start the game. Nathan Betts had a pass knocked down by Josh Rippey, and then Justin Karp stopped running back Andy Young for a short gain.
After a Joe Riley run for a 1st down, Betts had a 60 yard pass to Riley for the first score of the game. Andrew Hallahan kicked the extra point, which made the score 7-0 Bearcats with 10:35 left in the 1st quarter.
The Bisons Drew Hipps returned the ensuing kickoff and recovered his own fumble to start the Bisons offense. Jarrin Campman had a pass intercepted by Bearcats Jared Donelson.
After the interception, the first play for the Bearcats had Riley fumble the ball back to the Bisons Drew Hipps.
On the Bisons next possession, J. Campman hit on a quick hitch pass to Hipps for a 52 yard TD for the Bisons. Parker Herrington\’s kick was good to tie the game at 7-7 with 9:58 left in the 1st quarter.
The Bearcats next possession had Josh Rippey knock down a pass and Justin Karp stop Andrew Young for nice gain, but they still had to punt.
The Bisons had a turnover on downs as they moved the ball down field, and the Bearcats had a 3 and out.
The Bisons were on the move with J. Campman throwing the ball to Trey Campman and Hipps, and having Toby Young and J. Campman running the ball. The Ball was on the Bearcat 4 yard line. That ended the 1st quarter with the score 7-7.
To start the 2nd quarter the Bisons scored on a J. Campman keeper. The Herrington kick was good to make the score 14-7 Bisons at 11:47 in the 2nd quarter.
Bearcats 1st possession of the 2nd quarter had Betts hand off to Young and be tackled by Nick Redden for no gain. Betts passed the ball to Riley for a 1st down in Bison territory. Betts handed off to Riley for a 49 yard TD run and Andy the Hallahan kick was blocked to make the score 14-13 Bisons at 10:41 in the 2nd quarter.
The following Bisons possession had J. Campman pass to Todd Hryn for a 6 yard gain. J. Campman on a keeper for a 1st down. Then J. Campman had a couple of passes to T. Campman to gain a 1st down at the 34 yard line of the Bearcats.
J. Campman\’s next pass was complete to Hipps for a 9 yard gain. On 2nd and 1,a flag on the play set them back 5 yards. Then J. Campman passed the ball to T. Campman for a TD, the Herrington kick was good. That set the score at 21-13 Bisons with 7:39 left in the 2nd quarter.
After the kickoff, the Bearcats fumbled the ball and Toby Young recovered the ball at the 24 yard line of the Bearcats.
J. Campman ran the ball 3 times to get to the Bearcat 10 yard line. J. Campman passed the ball to David Ryan for the next Bison score. Herrington\’s kick was good again and the Bisons were on top 28-13 at 5:54 in the 2nd quarter.
After the kickoff the Bisons defense led by Rippey, Karp, and Redden dug in and made the Bearcats punt.
After the punt the Bisons started on their own 46 yard line. J. Campman ran the ball for short gain. Then he had a pass to Hipps for a 1st down at the Bearcat 17 yard line. After a couple of runs by Young and J. Campman, he passed the ball to Vince Panebianco to get them to the 1 yard line.
J. Campman on a keeper for a TD. Herrington\’s kick was good, which made the score 35-13 Bisons at 1:37 left in the half.
The Bearcats started the next possession on their own 17 yard line. Betts went back to pass and had it intercepted by J. Campman, who ran it back for another Bison score. The Herrington kick was good to make the score 42-13 at 1:22 left in the 2nd quarter. That was the sore as the half ended.
To start the 3rd quarter the Bisons received the kickoff, which was fumbled and recovered by the Bisons. J. Campman went back to pass the ball and had it go off of Hipps hands which was intercepted by Bearcats Eric Buza.
The 1st possession for the Bearcats was more of the same, as the Bisons defense had tackles by Rippey, Andre Buck, Lee Zalno, and the rest of the defense forced them to punt. The Bisons offense went 3 and out to punt the ball back to the Bearcats.
The Bearcats started the next possession on their own 35 yard line. Betts handed off to Riley and he scampered 65 yards for a TD. They tried a two point conversion which the Bisons defense knocked down to make the score 42-19 at 7:40 left in the 3rd quarter.
After the kickoff, the Bisons started their next drive at the Bearcat 45 yard line. J. Campman passed the ball to T. Campman for 5 yard gain. J. Campman on a keeper for a first down. Then J.Campman was sacked by Tyler Shope for a huge loss.
Then J. Campman passed to Hipps for a 1st down at the Bearcat 16 yard line. J. Campman on a keeper for another TD. Herrington\’s kick was good which made the score 49-19 at 5:13 left in the 3rd quarter.
Betts had a pass complete to Mike Fisher for a TD, but a flag on the play brought the TD back for the Bearcats. Then both teams had their defenses stop each other\’s offenses.
Betts handed off to Riley and he fumbled and Cruise Kerr recovered for the Bisons. Brandon Sass took over the helm for the Bisons to end the 3rd quarter with the score 49-19 favor of the Bisons.
The Bisons offense ran the clock off with fresh players, but did not score in the 4th quarter. The Bisons defense stayed stingy, but allowed one more score.
Betts handed off to Seth Glover a couple times for little or no gain. Then Betts passed the ball to Nathan Mykut for huge gain that would take them to the 16 yard line of the Bisons.
After a gain by Glover, the Betts pass to Jake Reid was incomplete. Then Betts on a keeper scored a TD and the kick was good by Dorian Conrad to make the score 49-26 with 31 seconds left in the game.
Even though they did a successful on-side kick, they couldn\’t score again. The final score was 49-26 Bisons over the Bearcats.
The Bisons improved to 6-3 on the season and will face 8-1 Penns Valley next week on the road.
